Appeals

Appeals online

You can now make, track and search for certain kinds of appeals online using the Planning Casework Service.  The service currently only deals with cases in England.

We are also running a pilot of a new service designed specifically for householder appeals.  You can find more detail at Householder Pilot.

All appeals*, whether they are made online or not, are available through our online search facility.

* where the final part of the appeal reference starts with a '2' and the site is in England.

* Access to appeal documents

The appeal decisions will be published.  Documents submitted in evidence, where published, are available for 6 weeks from the date of the decision on the case, after which they are archived.

Please note: From 18 September 2006 we suspended the publication of evidence due to a substantial rise in the number of appeals and submissions.

Appeals Guidance

The three sections listed below provide guidance on the different types of appeal:

  • Planning appeals deals with making appeals to do with planning applications
  • Enforcement appeals deals with appealing against an enforcement notice.
  • LDC appeals gives advice on how to appeal when a lawful development certificate application is refused (or not decided).
